Stay in the Kuća

‘the main house’

The Kuća (pronounced “KOO-cha”) is our home, which we share with guests from early summer to autumn. It has 4 guest bedrooms, beautifully furnished in timeless style each with their own wash-basin. Each bedroom shares a bathroom and WC with one other room.

Each room features shuttered windows that look out across surrounding hills and forests, perfect for nature spotting. If you are staying during the colder months our classic cast-iron radiators and log-burning stoves will keep you warm. During the hot summers the thick stone walls, solid wood shutters and fans will keep you cool.

All bookings for guests staying in the Kuća include a generous breakfast served on the terrace or in the “konoba”.

Guests can also book dinners (offered on Wednesday and Saturday evenings) and culinary activities with Anna (offered once a week, usually on Tuesdays or Fridays) if they wish, subject to availability. Read more about dining and cooking at Bolara 60 here.

The Kuća will suit anyone looking for rural tranquility and makes a great base for exploring the region. Our guests enjoy day-trips to the coast and nearby hilltop towns, beautiful early summer and autumn walks, making the most of the area’s fantastic restaurants and wineries, and back at Bolara 60 meeting others, dining together and sharing the terrace and garden spaces. If you would like to be able to cook for yourself you can instead book the Kućica, which is self-catering.

The Kuća is a shared house, where guests join us to appreciate a quiet rural area. Therefore, with apologies to the parents of little children, during the high summer season when we are generally fullest (see dates below), the Kuća is not suitable for children under the age of 8. Guests of all ages are very welcome outside of high season, and in the self-catering Kućica at any time of year.

So as not to disturb other guests we do not allow guests to bring pets to the Kuća at any time. Our own cat, Fluffy, (an extremely friendly adopted stray who was named in a hurry) is not allowed in guest bedrooms, and naturally we keep her away from indoor cooking and dining activities, so those with mild allergies should not suffer. If you have a severe cat allergy we suggest you book the Kućica, in which cats are not allowed. Both the Kuća and Kućica are non-smoking.

Bedrooms in the Kuća
