The Kućica (pronounced “KOO-cheetsa”) is a small house, attached to, but independent of the main house. Sleeping up to 5 (including one baby in a cot or child in a fold-out bed), it has 2 bedrooms furnished with hand-made and vintage pieces.

The Kućica is self-contained and rented on a self-catering basis year-round. It has an open plan kitchen-dining-sitting room in the old stone cow-shed at the bottom of the house. This room opens onto a covered terrace with seating, a grill and beautiful view across the Mirna valley. Guests are also welcome to make use of the garden and meadow.

Guests in the Kućica can also book into breakfasts, dinners and culinary activities taking place at the main house when it is open (usually May to October), by prior arrangement and subject to availability. When the main house is open breakfasts are served daily at 9am, dinners twice a week (on Wednesday and Saturday evenings), and cooking classes occasionally (usually on a Tuesday or Friday morning). The Kućica is perfect for couples, families or small groups looking for a peaceful rural escape. Due to the many stone surfaces and steps in and around the house it may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers or those with walking difficulties. Extremely well-behaved pet dogs may be allowed, but please check with us first. Cats and other animals are not allowed inside the Kućica so that future guests with allergies will not suffer.

The house is non-smoking, although you can smoke on the Kućica terrace.

The Kućica is right next to our main house, and also close to our neighbours. We therefore request that guests do not play music outside, and respect our quiet hours, which are 10:30pm-8:30am.

The Kućica is available to rent on its own or in conjunction with additional rooms in the main house. We do not rent single rooms in the Kućica.

Facilities in the Kućica:

Ground floor: electric oven with hob; fridge with small freezer section; toaster; kettle; moka pot, jezva and cafetière for coffee-making; dishwasher; washing machine and drying rack; log-burning stove with initial supply of wood; dining table for 4; underfloor heating; downstairs WC; covered terrace with outdoor grill with initial supply of charcoal, table and seating.

First floor: bedroom (‘Mirna’) with twin beds or super king double (please advise), wash basin, portable fan, cast iron radiator and wood-burning stove; bathroom with walk-in shower, WC, underfloor heating and heated copper towel rail.

Second floor: bedroom (‘Altini’) with double bed, space for cot or fold-out single bed (available on request), wash basin, ceiling fan, cast iron radiators, free-standing bath and en suite WC.

Low season 2022 (2nd November to 22nd December 2022):  133 euro per night.

Low season 2023 (3rd January to 14th May 2023; 6th November to 22nd December 2022):  150 euro per night.

Early summer (15th May to 30th June 2023), autumn (1st October to 5th November 2023), and Christmas (23rd December 2023 to 3rd January 2024):  170 euro per night.

High summer season (1st July to 30th September 2022):  190 euro per night.

Extra bed:  Cot (for an infant) – no charge. Fold-out bed with bedding (for a child) – 15 euro per night.

Important notes:  * The minimum stay in high season is 5 nights, and at other times it is 3 nights. Shorter bookings are not accepted. * A 10% discount will be applied to bookings of 7 or more nights. * Check-in is not possible on Sundays or Mondays. * Prices include use of the whole Kućica, VAT and tourist tax. * When the main house is open, dinners are offered on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, and breakfasts every morning. Booking terms and conditions

Please contact us to make your reservation. You can request particular dates or leave the booking open and let us tell you when we have availability.

Pricing:

Please note that the price of your stay depends on the time of year and the length of your stay. We love guests to stay a bit longer with us to fully relax and explore the area, so stays of 7+ nights receive a discount. See above for full details.

Booking terms:

We charge the full amount on reservation, due within one week. Payment ensures that we hold the accommodation for you. However, if your booking has a value of 600 euro or more, and is being made 4 or more months in advance, then you can pay a 50% deposit and the balance will be due by one month before arrival. Failure to make payments by the dates given will result in the loss of your booking.

Cancellation terms:

For a full refund you need to notify us in writing of your wish to cancel at least 60 days in advance of the arrival date. For a 50% refund you need to notify us in writing of your wish to cancel at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date. If you cancel later than 30 days in advance we will not be able to refund any monies paid.

Damages deposit:

We may require you to pay a damages deposit in advance of your stay. This will be repaid in full shortly after your visit provided the Kućica is left in good condition. Of course we expect some wear and tear, but should there be significant damage to our property, belongings or surroundings we will need to keep the damages deposit in order to carry out repairs.

Arrival and departure:

Please note that check-in is possible between 5pm and 10pm. Sometimes earlier check-in or bag-drop is possible, but only by prior arrangement.

Check-out is by 10am. This gives us the time we need to turn around the house between guests.

Please also note that check-in is not possible on Sundays or Mondays.
