The Kućica (pronounced “KOO-cheetsa”) is a small house, attached to, but independent of, the main house. Sleeping up to five (including one baby in a cot or child in a fold-out bed), it has two bedrooms furnished with handmade and vintage pieces.
The Kućica is self-contained and rented on a self-catering basis year-round. It has an open-plan kitchen-dining-sitting room in the old stone cowshed at the bottom of the house. This room opens onto a covered terrace with seating, a grill, and a beautiful view across the Mirna valley. Guests are also welcome to make use of the garden and meadow.
Food service during your stay
Guests in the Kućica can book into breakfasts, dinners and culinary activities taking place at the main house when it is open (usually late May to early November), by prior arrangement. When the main house is open, breakfasts are served daily at 9:00 am, dinners twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, and snack boards and drinks are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. Keeping our home cosy for everyone
The Kućica is perfect for couples, families or small groups looking for a peaceful rural escape. Due to the many stone surfaces and steps in and around the house, it may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers or those with walking difficulties. Well-behaved pet dogs may be allowed, but please check with us first. Cats and other animals are not allowed inside the Kućica so that future guests with allergies will not suffer.
The house is non-smoking, although you can smoke on the Kućica terrace.
The Kućica is right next to our main house, and also close to our neighbours. We therefore request that guests do not play music outside and respect our quiet hours, which are 10:30 pm to 8:30 am.
The Kućica is available to rent on its own or in conjunction with additional rooms in the main house. We do not rent single rooms in the Kućica.

Ground floor: Electric oven with hob; fridge with small freezer section; toaster; kettle; moka pot, jezva and cafetière for coffee-making; dishwasher; washing machine and drying rack; log-burning stove with initial supply of wood; dining table for 4; underfloor heating; downstairs WC; covered terrace with outdoor grill with initial supply of charcoal, table and seating.
First floor: Bedroom (‘Mirna’) with twin beds or superking double (please advise), wash basin, portable fan, cast iron radiator and wood-burning stove; bathroom with walk-in shower, WC, underfloor heating and heated copper towel rail.
Second floor: Bedroom (‘Altini’) with double bed, space for cot or fold-out single bed (available on request), wash basin, ceiling fan, cast iron radiators, free-standing bath and en suite WC.
Bedrooms in the Kućica
Altini
Pronounced “al-TEE-nee” and named after the tiny hamlet along the road, Altini is a large room with a gorgeous, original oak beam arching through it and windows on three sides. It features a cast-iron double bed, space for a fold-out single or cot if needed, a hand-painted wash-basin and a free-standing vintage slipper bath. Altini has an en suite WC. There is also a shared bathroom next to Mirna, with a WC and spacious walk-in shower.
Mirna
Pronounced “MEER-na”, meaning “calm” or “quiet” in Croatian, and named after the valley the room overlooks. Mirna features hand-made twin beds, which optionally come together neatly as one large superking bed, a hand-painted wash-basin and a beautiful ceramic-tiled wood-burning stove. There is a shared bathroom next to Mirna, with a WC and a spacious walk-in shower.
Prices and booking terms for the Kućica in 2025-2026
Christmas 2025 (22 December 2025 to 6 January 2026): 240 euros per night.
Low seasons (3 November to 21 December 2025; 7 January to 21 May 2026; 2 November to 23 December 2026): 200 euros per night.
Main season 2026 (22 May to 1 November 2026): 260 euros per night.
Christmas 2026 (24 December 2025 to 9 January 2027): 260 euros per night.
Prices include use of the whole Kućica, VAT and tourist tax. They do not include breakfast.
Extra bed: Cot (for an infant) – no charge. Fold-out bed with bedding (for a child) – 15 euros per night.
Pets: Well-behaved pet dogs are allowed by prior arrangement. Note that outside, your dog will need to be kept under good control so as not to disturb the other animals in the vicinity (cats, dogs, and chickens).
Minimum stays: High season (July, August & September) – 5 nights; All other times – 3 nights.
Accommodation discounts: 15% for bookings of 7 or more nights; 10% for bookings of 4 or more nights outside of high season.
Dinners: 55 euros per person for a seasonal, home-cooked, set-menu, three-course dinner including wines/drinks. 25 euros per person for children under 12. Served Wednesdays and Saturdays when the main house is open, and must be booked at least 2 days in advance.
Breakfasts: 19 euros per person for a generous breakfast including tea, coffee, homemade granola, yoghurt, sourdough bread and jams, fruit and a changing daily special dish. Served daily at 9 am when the main house is open, and must be booked at least 2 days in advance.
Breakfast basket: Alternatively you can order breakfast foods to be delivered to the Kućica the day before, ready for you to assemble in the morning. 30 euros fixed price for our homemade granola and yoghurt, homemade sourdough bread and jam, eggs from our chickens, milk and butter. No substitutions. The basket is easily enough for 4 people, or 2 people for 2 days, and must be booked at least 2 days in advance.
Booking terms: We charge the full amount on reservation, due within one week. Payment ensures that we hold the accommodation for you. However, if your booking has a value of 800 euros or more, and is being made 4 or more months in advance, then you can pay a 50% deposit, and the balance will be due one month before arrival. Failure to make payments by the dates given may result in the loss of your booking.
Cancellation terms: For a full refund, you need to notify us in writing of your wish to cancel at least 60 days in advance of the arrival date. For a 50% refund, you need to notify us in writing of your wish to cancel at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date. If you cancel later than 30 days in advance, we will not be able to refund any monies paid.
Arrival and departure: Check-in is possible between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Sometimes, earlier check-in or bag-drop is possible by prior arrangement. Check-out is by 10:00 am. This gives us the time we need to prepare rooms between guests. Please also note that check-in is not possible on Sundays.
